About Melissa (she/her)
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in Orland Park, Illinois, offering in-person and virtual therapy for adults ages 18 and older. I’m authorized through PSYPACT to provide telepsychology services to individuals in 40+ US states. Having worked for over a decade in different clinical settings, I treat a broad range of mental health concerns and have more extensive experience working with young adults, complex trauma, and LGBTQIA+ wellness.
I am originally from the Chicago suburbs and stayed close to earn my Bachelors degree at Depaul University and Masters and Doctoral degrees at Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. From there, I began my career in Wisconsin in university mental health before working at an outpatient clinic in an academic medical setting. After moving back to IL and gaining experience in a private group practice, I started my solo practice in 2024 where I continue to provide psychotherapy and stay engaged in advocacy, outreach and training.
My therapy approach is tailored to each client's specific symptoms and goals and grounded in evidence-based approaches to mental health treatment. I help clients develop new coping skills and use their strengths to deal with difficult issues while understanding the roots of their mental health challenges to promote lasting change. It is my intention to remain open-minded, self-reflective and competent in my work with people with a diversity of backgrounds and identities. Outside of work, you’ll find me walking my dogs, watching documentaries, maintaining my native pollinator garden and exploring new places with family and friends.
